July 19th - August 22nd

I've been knitting a lot of "stock" items over the past month - hats, gloves and so forth - but I managed to get some creative time in as well. I designed and crocheted a cotton jacket using one of my favorite crochet patterns; it looks like a spiderweb and works up fairly quickly.



I sewed a bunch of new bags and have three more listed on my project bag page. This one is my favorite; I have a gorgeous skirt made out of this fabric:



Dad has a new set of spring-themed notecards in his shop:



Oh, and scarves! I crocheted a few scarves. It's been a long time since I've made scarves. I had the yarn on hand and wanted to make something fun and different (for me, at least), and since crochet works up faster I was able to price them lower than I would've had to price knitted ones. I created a new scarf-only section to include them.



I have two more patterns drafted that still need to be typed up and listed. Let's hope I get to them before my next post.

Week of June 18th-24th

Despite the sluggish heat, I managed to knit two infinity scarves in teal and rust:





Also got five new bears knit up, but I don't have pictures because they're not yet assembled. At the moment I'm starting a lace cotton sweater design, which I would much rather work on now than blog, so I'm going call it a day.

Two Scarflettes

A quick post before I go to bed: here are two woolen "scarflettes" I finished a couple of weeks ago. I ought to have listed them by now, but I'm still deciding how I feel about these photos of me modeling them. The sun is kind of bright and the background might be too busy; also, I think I look pretty dorky, even without the glasses. Would makeup help? What if I cut out most of my face and focused only on the scarf? I always have this debate with myself when I'm modeling one of my own pieces, since I don't think I photograph particularly well. I do happen to have a glamorous model on hand, but unfortunately, she's a feline and can only model cat blankets and not clothing.

Scarves Really Done Now *'Echarpes Finalement Finis

Finally got my scarves up on Etsy; you can see them here. I'm pretty satisfied by the way the pictures turned out. I was seriously debating how much to price my Night Sky Crocheted Scarf;the yarn itself was really expensive, but it was mostly made of synthetic fibers, which I usually charge less for than natural fibers. I wound up setting the price at $60, about the price I paid for the yarn; a bit of a loss, but I'm comfortable with that in this case.

Now, to prep myself for a weekend of work!
